Man cave, fire in wood stove, F1 race on TV. Doesn’t get better.

A nice glass of vin rouge, candles, a fluffy blanket and some calming music

Sounds lovely. I forgot candles! I like scented candles myself, especially some of the autumn scents.

Cocooning is a relatively new concept here, I think. It would be interesting to see when the term started being used in France. I'm a big cocooner when I can be -- we've got lots of soft, fuzzy blankets around and I like nothing better than getting in lounge-wear or even pyjamas, snuggling up on the couch and reading. Nothing original! My French husband used to be a bit alarmed to see me in PJs at 10am or 7pm, but he's gotten used to it. I don't think I'd stay in them all day, though.

I read that it came about in the 1970s or 80s thanks to some lady named Nancy Popcorn... but I think sometimes these concepts evolve because they're inspired by other cultures. Personally, I can't do PJs all day, but I have a cozy sweat suit that I like to wear that brings me big cocooning vibes. :)

Interesting! It didn’t get on my radar until much later! But then again, I do live in the sticks, lol!

A few things do come to mind: Italian hot chocolate, so thick the spoon stands up in the middle of it; a hot Irish whiskey; a sumptuous mohair blanket or throw made of Irish wool; a fire in the fireplace.

I’m getting cozy Irish vibes! A fire really is the best for cocooning.
